Hot Melt Adhesives

HOT MELTS

Hot Melts are 100% solids, thermoplastic adhesives. They are applied via heated application equipment (either hand held or bulk systems) which reduce the adhesive to a molten state and exhibit excellent adhesive properties. The adhesive then cures by cooling to form rapid, strong and durable bonds across many surfaces. Orbitals range of adhesives represent a very comprehensive range of hot melts for both hand and bulk application systems. Our range has been split into Hand Held and Bulk applied hot melts. The hand applied hot melts are subdivided into 12mm, 20mm and 43mm gluesticks. The bulk systems are subdivided into granular (slat, chip) hot melts and pressure sensitive grades. In addition to the adhesives, we offer a full range of hot melt application equipment.

GLUE STICKS

Our hot melt glue sticks range from general purpose, packaging and assembly grades through to the highest levels of performance gluesticks available in today’s marketplace. All Orbitals gluesticks are compatible with one or more of the range of industrial glueguns.

It is available in 12mm and 18mm stick form.

H1004 is our high temperature resistant, honey coloured EVA hot metal adhesive which offers very high performance and aggressive tack. It has a medium open time and will bond a wide variety of substrates such as, plastics, wood, paper, boards and textiles. H3004 is commonly used in the electronics industry (high temperature applications), meets FDA approval and is available in12mm stick form.

H1005 is a tan coloured, packaging EVA hot melt adhesive offering fast setting rates combined with tough durable bon strength. It is our standard grade for use in the packaging and converting industry. H1005 will bond many other substrates such as wood, plastics and textiles. It meets FDA approval and is available in 12mm stick form.

H1010LM is a clear, EVA low melt adhesive formulated to operate at a lower temperature (120 – 1500 C). This allows bonding across more sensitive substrates such as expanded polystyrene. H1010LM has very aggressive tack and a medium to long open time. It is suitable for creating high performance bonds on many common substrates. It meets FDA approval to CFR 21, 175, 105 and is available in 12mm stick form. Other low melt grades are available. Please consult our Technical Department.

H1020 hot melt adhesive has very high tack and viscosity. It is our general purpose hot melt and will bond most common substrates such as simple paper, board and textiles etc. H1020 meets FDA approval and is available in three sizes; 12mm, 20mm and 43mm.

H1030 is a rubber toughened hot melt adhesive offering high performance across a range of difficult to bond substrates such as glass, ceramics and metals. It is available in three sizes; 12mm, 20mm, 43mm, creating a wide range of equipment choice. H1030 is tan in colour and has high molten tack coupled with a medium open time. H1030 Meets FDA approval.

H1040 is our brown hot melt with medium/long open time and high tack. Developed as a multi purpose adhesive for bonding wood, leather, fabric and ceramics, H1040 meets FDA approval and is available in three sizes; 12mm, 20mm and 43mm.

H1050 hot melt adhesive is formulated for most packaging applications such as carton closing. H1050 will bond most papers and board and has high molten tack coupled with a short open time. It is available in three sizes; 12mm, 20mm, 43mm and meets FDA approval.

H1200 is our polyamide hot melt adhesive. It has short/medium open time developed for bonding fibreglass, polyester, polyamide, ABS, rigid PVC and aluminium. It offers a medium/high molten tack and is available in 12mm stick and bulk forms. For higher temperature resistance and longer open times ask for H1210.

INDUSTRIAL GLUEGUNS (HAND HELD APPLICATIONS)

Orbitals range of industrial glueguns includes applicators to suit all forms of gluesticks. Hot and low versions are available as are guns that will accept granular hot melts. All our glueguns are manufactured to the highest standards and in accordance with the relevant specifications and approvals. Applicators come complete with six or twelve month warranties, dependant on the gluegun.

HMG 50 is the smallest gluegun in the range and is suitable for "close up" and low output work where small amounts of adhesive are required.

HMG 100 is more robust than the HMG 50 and is suitable for low output work.

HMG 110 is a thermostatically controlled glue gun with variable temperature setting suitable for medium output.

HMG 180 is our higher output version of the 110 hot melt gun. Larger in size and weight, the HMG 180 offers high output combined with variable heat setting. It accepts 18mm hot melt sticks.

HMG200 is the industry standard 12mm medium output applicator. The HMG 200 has been used throughout industry for many years and has a proven to be robust and reliable.

HMG 300 is our most recent addition to the range and accepts 20mm glueslugs as the common form of input. Its ergonomic full handle trigger, multi cartridge stacking holder and powerful heating system make it ideal for medium and medium/high output work whilst reducing operator fatigue.

HMG 400 hot melt applicator is the largest and most powerful non-pneumatic gluegun in the range. The HMG 400 accepts 43mm glueslugs and dispenses high levels of hot melt easily. The HMG 400 represents the very latest industrial glugun technology reflecting why it is the most obvious choice for customers requiring high output yet reliable means of applying hot melt.

HMG 500 is our pneumatically operated version of the 400, further reducing operator fatigue and increasing output capabilities.

HMG 550 SPRAY HOT MELT APPLICATOR provides new levels of hot melt adhesive application have been attained. Pressure sensitive 43mm hot melt glueslugs can be applied through the 550 meaning there is less need for expensive bulk application systems.

HMG 600 accepts many different forms of hot melts adhesives. Some very specialised grades of hot melt adhesive that are only available in granular form can now be applied through our HMG 600. this gun captures the whole concept of Impact Adhesives as a company, reflecting our philosophy of providing our customers with precisely what they require and placing as few limitations as possible on adhesive choice.

Applicators marked with LMG denote the applicator is available in a low melt version. We also supply a full range of bulk hot melt application equipment along with spares, accessories and replacement parts. Because each bulk system is manufactured to suit customer requirements, they do not appear in this brochure. It more information is required please do not hesitate to contact out Technical department who will welcome your enquiry.

PRESSURE SENSITIVE HOT MELT ADHESIVES
